What's actually free?

Does this cover both CSLB exams?
Yes. Every Class B applicant takes two exams at PSI: Law & Business and the Class B trade exam. The bank covers both — License Law, Business & Contracts, Planning & Estimating, the trades, and Health & Safety.
Is the content current?
Fact-checked against primary California sources in July 2026 — B&P Code, Civil Code, Cal/OSHA Title 8, and current building code, including recent changes like the workers'-comp rules and the $1,000 handyman threshold. When the law moves, the bank gets re-verified.
What does the exam itself cost?
CSLB's application fee is $450 and the initial license fee is $200 for a sole owner (per cslb.ca.gov). Exams are computer-based at PSI centers, 3.5 hours each, closed book. Fail one and you wait 21 days to retake — which is exactly the expensive round-trip this app exists to help you avoid.
Do you guarantee I'll pass?
No — and be suspicious of anyone who does, because CSLB publishes no pass rates and nobody can verify those claims. What we do instead: show you a readiness score computed from your own answers, so you walk into PSI already knowing how you perform under exam conditions.
What about other license classes?
